To infinity and beyond! That was that cool Buzz Lightyear character who seem to have this knack for having faith in any circumstance.
I love his character because he was so blindly naïve. However, there seemed to be some type of truth that he lived by that even though it wasn’t for real, for real, things still seem to go his way.
Have you ever met anyone like this? They are like a cat. They always seem to land on their feet no matter what kind of mess they get themselves into? Secretly you despise them just a little wishing you had a bit of pixie dust for your own life to rise above you own challenges.
Ultimately Buzz does learn that he doesn’t have quite the superpowers that he thought he had. But he finds out that he has other kinds of powers. Powers of friendship and relationship and well-being.
I sometimes wonder if that’s the journey we all go through. We start out believing that we are invincible that we can accomplish anything and we later discover that we are surrounded by four gray walls called a cubicle day in and day out.
Guess what at least you can personalize your cubical…barf.
Life suddenly doesn’t feel so exciting anymore. It doesn’t feel like the hopes and dreams that we once had are still alive.
We can feel pretty defeated and walk around with the lack of hope. Sometimes I think it even could be considered a mild despair. The only thing that kind of gets us in between the moments of despair are things like Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts.
But what if I were to tell you that there is hope. That the reason that you’re reading this it’s because you need to be reminded of the hope and dreams that you once had. What if I told you that there was no purpose in this blog except for you to read it.
Years ago I found a sticky note. It was stuck on the side view mirror of my car. It said to call this funny number and I did. I thought I might have hit someone. It was a recording. It was a woman who said something kind of mystical.
I don’t really remember exactly what she said, however it gave me an idea. I thought what if I just randomly went around and I put sticky notes on car windows or a side view mirrors and left the recording on the number that they call that says there’s hope. That’s the do-gooder in me.
So, I tried it. LOL
It was pretty cool actually. I got a few calls where people said thank you so much for leaving that note of hope.
So take it for what it is worth, but this is sort of like that sticky note for you today.
-Be encouraged. Wherever you are it’s not too late for your hopes and dreams to come true.
Get to know yourself, your blind spots, your weaknesses, and allow yourself to grow and form into the person that you’ve always been designed to be.
One of my mentors told me that desire reveals design and design reveals destiny.
What are your desires? How are you designed? Have you begun to believe that your destiny will be fulfilled?
Maybe there is a reason you landed here today. Maybe not. In any case, I hope you enjoyed this post.
Thanks for reading. I’ll catch you in the next blog.
